PE and Sports Premium
What is the Sports Premium Grant?
The government is continuing to provide funding for primary school sport for 2024-2025. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
We have a culture of high expectations for all pupils and this is evident throughout the school. We recognise that PE, sport and developing the whole child is the key to our success. Through sport the important qualities of resilience, communication, teamwork, and friendship are improved…..which can then be taken back to the classroom.
From an early age, sport is nurtured and encouraged. Our curriculum shows regular PE lessons (2 hours a week) and sport related topics annually. We hold extra-curricular days which develop children’s understanding of healthy body and mind; we have held healthy body and mind days, Pupils participate in workshops for example the “Tryathalon”
